There is More to Fashion Than Meets the Eye
My Uncle Mortie had a business in New York City’s garment district. He would tell us stories about how hard it was to get racks of clothes delivered with trucks never running on time. As a bonus, Morie always had beautiful clothes to give us, as gifts. I never gave the clothing business much thought until my sister became a designer. She explained all of the complications that could happen between the time an idea became a garment and the time the clothes were bought. She called it fashion logistics and is apparently good at it because she is already making a five-figure income. That’s a big leap from Mortie’s racks and trucks.
