Workout effectively

When I am working out, most of the time I can hardly wait for it to be over.  This is sad pretty much.  I feel like I am too impatient to really get into lifting weights, it just seems so slow sometimes.  I am way too used to sports and all the gametime, the quick moving, the goal, the immediacy, and the satisfaction.  If and when I can find some fast but effective workouts to do then I suppose I will be happy.  I will be able to remain engaged in what I am doing instead of being bored to tears.
